World Card Making Day Event

This Saturday, October 5, I will be participating in an event to celebrate World Card Making Day.  It will be held in The Villages at the Lake Miona Recreation Center.  The location is a different room than last year so ask at the front desk if you can't find us.  We'll be there from 10:00 to 3:00.

I'll have lots of sample cards on display.  There will be stamping demonstrations and make & takes.  Don't miss out on the fun!  Hope to see you there.

Joyful Christmas Two Ways

I love the Joyful Christmas stamp set in Stampin' Up!'s Holiday Catalog.  As soon as I saw the card on page 10 of the catalog I knew I wanted to create something very similar for one of my monthly card clubs.  The card in the catalog is a larger square card.  I wanted to change it to fit in one of our medium envelopes.  Here's my version.

Supplies (all Stampin' Up!)
Stamp Set:  Christmas Messages
Card Stock:  Cherry Cobbler, Very Vanilla, Brushed Gold
Ink:  Gold Metallic Encore Pad, Cherry Cobbler
Accessories:  Pretty Print Embossing Folder, Expressions Thinlits Dies, Frosted Finishes Embellishments, Gold Embossing Powder

Did you notice that the Frosted Finishes Embellishment wasn't silver as it is in the catalog?  I heat embossed it with gold embossing powder so it would coordinate with the Brushed Gold card stock used for the "Merry" Expressions Thinlit.

While I was working on this card I decided to try another color combo.  Much softer and with silver instead of gold.

So which do you prefer?

More Braided Cards

Today's meeting at Sea Breeze was a great success.  We had a big turnout and lots of cute cards.  I was so bummed that I forgot my camera.  I would have loved to have taken pictures and shown you all the creativity in the room.

I made three more of these cards.

The directions for this card technique came from Stampin' Up! demo Brandy Cox.  She has video instructions as well as a template to download on her blog, BrandysCards.com.   CLICK HERE for the post for these adorable cards.

Braided Card Technique

I'll be teaching this technique at Stamping at Sea Breeze tomorrow afternoon.  (September 27 at 1:00 PM).  If you're in The Villages I'd love to have you join us.  You can get more information on the club's blog along with the list of supplies you need to bring.  Just CLICK HERE for that info.

I'll post more details next week here for those that can't attend the meeting.

Sweet Ballerina

I love the little ballerina in the stamp set Stylin' Girl.  Just the perfect stamp to use up some of my ruffled ribbons!  This was one of my swap cards for convention that I never posted.

Supplies (all Stampin' Up!)
Stamps:  Stylin’ Girl, Express Yourself
Paper:  Strawberry Slush, Pink Pirouette, Whisper White
Ink:  Jet Black StazOn, Strawberry Slush
Markers:  Soft Suede, Pink Pirouette
Accessories:  Strawberry Slush 3/8” Ruffle Stretch Trim, Multipurpose Adhesive Sheets, Ovals Framelits,  Rhinestone Jewels, Silver Glitter, Perfect Polka Dots Embossing Folder, Stampin’ Dimensionals

I used the Multipurpose Adhesive Sheets to attach the ribbons.  So easy!
